Bozo Podunavac (pronounced: bo-zho pod oo nav ack), is a Serbian born master luthier / guitar builder who imigrated to the U.S. in 1959. I was raised in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. I served my apprenticeship with master luthier Milutin Miadenovic and graduated in 1950.
In 1959 I moved to Chicago and I started working in the repair department
of a musical instrument dealer & manufacturer.
In 1964 I opened my own shop and began building custom guitars with my name "BOZO" on the peghead.
Mid 1970's I moved my business to Escondido & then to San Diego, Southern California...
Over 700 Guitars built to date! But it was In San Diego that I formed a very successful school of lutherie and aimed to inspire others too.
I currently reside in englewood FL. & continue to offer my guitar building services here.
I apprenticed in the old world tradition & relish building highly ornate instruments.
